NOR- 2025 SB City Race And Tequila Derby

SEPTEMBER 5, 2025 – 11:00 Start

NEW FOR 2025 - The race to Santa Barbara is on Friday Sept. 5th and The Return Race

(Tequila Derby) is on Sunday Sept 7th. Last year’s race was a big hit. We had a great race

and a fun dock party, supercharged by free AYC supplied Margaritas! We had 6 boats

attend last year and hope to increase the number of boats this year. We have to make

reservations with boat info by the beginning of August (very soon). If you are interested in

RULES

This race will be governed by the rules as defined in the racing rules of sailing. Any

changes to the rules allowed by rule 86 will be stated in the sailing instructions with rule

number and specific change.

Ratings

The Santa Barbara City Race will use PHRF W/L ratings.

The Tequila Derby will use PHRF OWC ratings.

FEES

The entry fee for all classes is $40 each way or $75 for both ways. Slip fees are per the

City of Santa Barbara and there are no refunds for slip fees. Payment for the race(s)

and slips is due by early-August.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Dates: Friday, Sept. 5 – Santa Barbara City Race (Mandalay Spar to Santa Barbara

Sunday, Sept. 7 - Tequila Derby (Santa Barbara to Mandalay Spar)

Check-In: On the water on channel 68 or come within hailing distance prior to the

starting sequence of the first race.

Race Start: Sept. 5, 11:00 am @ Mandalay Spar; Sept. 7, 12:00 pm @ see SI

Post Race: There will be a serious Dock Party Friday night after the race to SB.

Trophies

Trophies will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place for each race. Trophies will be presented

at the AYC Wet Wednesday Awards presentation.
