NOR- 2026 SB City Race And Tequila Derby

SEPTEMBER 25, 2026 – 11:00 Start / September 27, 2026 - 12:00 Start

NEW FOR 2026 - The race to Santa Barbara is on Friday Sept. 25th and The Return Race

(Tequila Derby) is on Sunday Sept 27th. Last year’s race was a big hit. We had a great race

and a fun dock party, supercharged by free Margaritas! We had 6 boats

attend last year and hope to increase the number of boats this year. We have to make

reservations with boat info by the beginning of August (very soon). If you are interested in

RULES

This race will be governed by the rules as defined in the racing rules of sailing. Any

changes to the rules allowed by rule 86 will be stated in the sailing instructions with rule

number and specific change.

Ratings

The Santa Barbara City Race will use PHRF W/L ratings.

The Tequila Derby will use PHRF OWC ratings.

FEES

The entry fee for all classes is $40 each way or $75 for both ways. Slip fees are per the

City of Santa Barbara and there are no refunds for slip fees. Payment for the race(s)

and slips is due by early-August.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Friday, Sept. 25 – Santa Barbara City Race (Mandalay Spar to Santa Barbara Y.C. Buoy)

Race Start: Sept. 25, 11:00 @ Mandalay Spar

Post Race: There will be a serious Dock Party Friday night after the race to SB.

Sunday, Sept. 27 - Tequila Derby (Santa Barbara Y.C. Buoy to Mandalay Spar)

Sept. 27, 12:00 @ Santa Barbara Y.C. Middle Buoy (see Instructions)

Check-In: On the water on channel 68 or come within hailing distance prior to the

starting sequence of the race.

Post Race: Meet at AYC Open Mic Night and Dinner for awards.

TROPHIES

Trophies will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place for each race. Trophies will be presented at the SB dock Party for the race to Santa Barbara.

Tequila Derby awards will be presented at the Open Mic Night and Dinner at AYC on September 27.
